Notes: The piece has no attribution in either source, but has been conjecturally attributed to Frescobaldi because in Düben 408 it is followed by the Canzona prima F 3.13 in the same key; see Irving, xxv-xxvi. The Fantasia in Lynar 1A, although essentially the same work, has significant variants, and is followed by three dances in the same key. Dirksen, while stating Frescobaldi’s authorship “could be seriously considered,” thinks the work more likely to be a product of Froberger’s early years; see Dirksen (2003), 57-61. A facsimile of the first page of the Lynar 1a version is given in Dirksen (2003), 63.
