Notes: This courante, although attributed to “Gautier,” has been included in the FTCO, because mm. 47-9 and 54-57 show curious correspondences to mm. 15-17 and 9-12 of F 3.35; see Dirksen (2003), pp. 49-50. While Dirksen conceeds that Gautier’s passage may have been derived from Frescobaldi’s, he thinks it more likely that the derivation went in the other direction.
