Notes: The first six couplets of Alessandro Poglietti’s passacaglia are based, somewhat freely, on those of F 2.23 in scrambled order, corresponding to nos. 1, 4, 2, 3, 5, and 6 of Frescobaldi’s Passacagli. The remaining eight are not known from Frescobaldi’s works. Poglietti’s Passacaglie forms the seventh of eight movements of a programatic suite headed “Toccatina sopra la Ribellione di Ungheria De Al. de Pogl.,” and is the only movement that lacks a programmatic title.
