Notes: Scribe: Frescobaldi. Although most of this MS appears to have a pedagogical purpose (see Jeanneret 2009), is it possible that the master on this page jotted down an idea for further tightening the passacaglia pattern in the Cento Partite, mm. 53-102. The three “partite” could smoothly substitute for the single one at mm. 101-102 (No. 40), resulting in a progression from 3/2 to 6/4 to 6/8 to 3/8 for each step of the pattern.
