FANTASIE (1608)

The first of Frescobaldi’s canonic keyboard publications was never republished in his lifetime and only a single copy is extant (in Bologna). Fewer manuscript copies survive than for any of the other publications. One of those copies, Berlin L121, was formerly believed to be in the hand of Bernardo Pasquini but that attribution has now been discredited.
