Frescobaldi or Ercole Pasquini?: F15.63. Canzona

Incipit 15.63

Scoring: Keyboard
Genre: Canzona
Key/Signature: A /♮
Main Source: Katz MS

Notes: For discussion of this unusually widely distributed work and its sources (not including the recent discovery in the Katz MS), see the literature and editions cited here. The number of attributions would seem to favor Pasquini, without necessarily closing the case. Two other canzonas use nearly identical subjects, but are otherwise distinct: F 14.34, thought to be by Frescobaldi, and n. 19 in the Opere Complete.
